SCHOOL COUNCIL 2025-2026
Our School Council is a group of elected pupils from Year 4-7, who have been chosen by their peers to represent the views and opinions of the pupils in their class. School Council representatives come together to discuss ways in which the school can improve, taking into consideration the pupil voice. School Council members also link with the younger classes in our school, bringing on board their ideas and thoughts.
The School Council are given the opportunity to talk with the people who can make changes happen and decide on the most effective ways to implement these changes. School Council members share with their class news and information, discuss new initiatives and feedback to their class on what has been achieved. Our School Council representatives also aim to participate in fundraising events.
In previous years the School Council has been involved in fundraising for new playground equipment, something that came out of investigating how to improve pupil wellbeing following remote teaching and learning in previous years. They also spearhead Fairtrade within our school and we are a Fairachiever School and have held this highest Fairtrade award awarded to a school for the past 15 years. The School Council are also involved in an Attendance HERO initiative aiming to improve pupil attendance throughout the school as well as contributing pupil voice and ideas on anti-bullying. Last year after planning for Anti-bullying Week our School Councillors decided to embark on helping our school become a School of Kindness, as they felt this would be the antidote to bullying. The School Councillors embarked on a programme to become Kindness Ambassadors and led our school on the journey to becoming a School of Kindness, which we were officially awarded in June 2025. Our Kindness Ambassadors were also awarded the UK award for Collective Kindness! Greig and Jaime from the School of Kinfness flew over from London to surprise our Kindness Ambassadors with their award
We hope this year’s School Council really enjoy being their class representatives, bringing Pupil Voice together, so we can share interests and ideas from all of the children in our school!
