Dear school community,
I have received an update today regarding the Education Authority response to a heating fault that the school reported before the Christmas holidays.
There is possible asbestos present under the flooring which would need to be safely removed if it is present before plumbers can access the three leaks within the pipes. The specialist asbestos contractor will go into school on Monday with a view to assessing the situation and safely removing any potential asbestos present. This will enable the plumbers to fix the three leaks in the pipes. Unfortunately, the school is required to be closed from Tuesday to Friday to facilitate this. Teaching and learning will need to be done remotely. Teachers will be in contact on Tuesday when the new term begins. I sincerely apologise for the very unfortunate and disappointing start to our new term.
